PEA and luteolin both modulate glial cell activation and reduce inflammatory cytokines. Together they support a healthy nervous and immune system.
Every ingredient is sourced from the highest quality food-based ingredients available. Mirica only uses the purest PEA available, Dutch brand OptiPEA®.
Mirica is tested by an independent laboratory for purity and is manufactured in the USA in an FDA registered, cGMP certified facility. Each bottle contains 60 capsules.
Starting Dose: Take 2-3 capsules in the morning and 2 capsules in the evening with food for four weeks.
Maintenance Dose: Take 1-2 capsules with food twice daily.
If you’re taking Mirica for general immune support and minor aches and pains, 2-3 capsules per day should be sufficient.* Others will need to start with the maximum dose for at least 6 weeks to asses if Mirica is beneficial. At that point, if you are feeling significant results, you may decrease your daily dosage by one capsule.* Pay close attention to your body to find the appropriate dose for you.
It may take at least 6 weeks of consistent use to assess if Mirica is right for you.

What is PEA?
Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) is an endogenous fatty acid amide. It is widely distributed throughout the body's tissues and is synthesized on demand. It was first isolated in 1957 as a component in egg yolks. It has been studied for its remarkable effects on the body's inflammatory response since 1975. (Hesselink 2017)
Mirica contains OptiPEA®, which is made by a pharmaceutical manufacturer in The Netherlands. OptiPEA® is 99.6% - 100% pure.
The Research
In a recent meta-analysis of PEA involving a total of 1484 chronic pain patients, those taking PEA reported pain levels an average of 2.7 points lower than the control groups after 60 days.* (Paladini 2016)
How does PEA work?
PEA regulates many physiological responses associated with pain and inflammation.* This is achieved partially by activation the PPAR-alpha receptor. Activation of this nuclear receptor aids in the restoration of metabolic balance within cells and plays an important role in analgesia.*
Additional targets of PEA are mast cells and glial cells.* Excessive activation of these satellite, non-neuronal cells has been shown to maintain chronic pain. PEA inhibits excessive activity of these cells and restores their normal activity.* PEA also reduces the activity of the pro-inflammatory enzyme COX.* It acts indirectly on CB2 receptors as well. In addition to these, other mechanisms of action have been identified.* (Gabrielsson 2016) (Hesselink 2017)
Is PEA safe?
PEA occurs naturally in the body and in many foods. No side effects have been reported with its use, even at the highest doses.
What is Luteolin?
Luteolin is a potent bioflavonoid with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.* Like PEA, luteolin has several mechanisms of action. It is a potent modulator of microglial activation and inhibitor of pro-inflammatory cytokine production.* (Dirscherl 2010) It also acts on GABA and opioid receptors in the spinal cord.* (Li 2015)
Is Luteolin safe?
The recommended daily dose of Mirica is equlivant to the amount of luteolin found in one artichoke. At this dose luteolin is safe and no side effects have been reported.
Maintenance Dose: Take 1-2 capsules with food twice daily.
If you’re taking Mirica for general immune support and normal, minor aches and pains, 2-3 capsules per day should be sufficient.* Others will need to start with the maximum dose for at least 6 weeks to asses if Mirica is beneficial. At that point, if you are feeling significant results, you may decrease your daily dosage by one capsule.*
It may take at least 6 weeks of consistent use to assess if Mirica is right for you.
We suggest buying two bottles at first to ensure you don't run out before PEA has a chance to build up in your body. Consistency is key to achieving the best results.*
If you miss a dose, you may take up to three capsules the next two doses.
PEA becomes increasingly effective as it builds up in the body's tissues.*
No negative side effects have been reported from use of Mirica, PEA or luteolin. In fact, Mirica has many positive side effects, due to its anti-inflammatory and immune-regulating properties.*
Research shows PEA supports a healthy immune system. PEA and luteolin also support functions in the body related to recovering from exercise and strength-training.
PEA regulates cells that can lead to inflammation in the brain.
PEA occurs naturally in the body and in many foods. No side effects have been reported with its use, even at the highest doses.
Luteolin is a natural bioflavonoid that is also is present in many foods. At the recommended doses there are no serious side effects.
